Complex Decision Systems
The complexity of business operations today ensures that no single decision support technique is sufficient to solve a problem. Using the wrong approach at the wrong place may compound a problem, rather than solving it. The solution lies in combining individual decision support techniques to form a compound decision support (DS) system. Different DS techniques may need to be applied to different parts of the problem (multi-modal pipelining) and different techniques may need to work together to solve the same problem (multi-modal collaboration). Our work involves research into increasing the richness of individual or unimodal decision support techniques and also of ways of combining them for complex problem solving. The work builds on the strong foundation of past research and development by various groups in TRDDC and TCS on unimodal decision support techniques.Contact
